Just getting started... I just bought my 1990 G60 on Sunday. Started ordering some new parts today. Shift boot, antenna. Now looking for roof seals.

Congrats on the purchase!

Did you order the stock antenna or get something different? I should replace mine too.

Just a stock antenna. It currently has a stubby carbon fiber antenna which is worthless.

You have to take out all the seatbelt and headliner trim to get to the antenna mount, if you still have the stupid motorized seat belt tracks, might be a good time to swap in the normal Euro/Canada reel type seatbelts while you're at it.

Interesting idea about the electric seat belts. I have a 93, where would I find the normal real seat belts that would work for that? I also cant seem to get my sunroof to work. It looks like I have power to the switch and still nothing. I picked up a different motor from ebay and still it does not work. New to this car and could use some help. thanks.

European and Canadian Corrados used the normal reel type seatbelts, just keep an eye out for someone parting a car and you can pick them up for not too much, that's what I did. Sometimes the guys that sell the Euro E-Code headlights for Corrados have access to lots of parts from the yards where they get their headlights and can rustle up a set, have a look on the Buy & Sell Forum on this website or on VW Vortex.

Mine's on ice waiting for Spring.... then lots of new/maintenance parts going on. My timing belt or tensioner is squeaky.

It looks like you have been around the Corrado for some time.
Have you any recommendation for a vendor for the coolant hoses on a 91 Corrado?
this car is bone stock and we want to maintain it as the same if at all possible.

The hoses and plastic on the G charger system need attention also. I can replace these with silicon hoses from
our industrial hose supplier and make the necessary connections at our fab shop. it would be a vast improvement
over the leaky system that is now in place.

Thanks,
Stan

Original parts are getting harder to come by, especially parts that are Corrado specific.
I can't remember if that moulded top coolant hose is one of those. Some are shared with Jetta/Passat/Golf etc.

I don't really have anywhere specific in mind, the places I used to use probably aren't in business anymore.
Get the VAG part numbers from ETKA and start searching...

You can always try Bahn Brenner too: http://www.bahnbrenner.com/
They're down in Bend, OR

Been a rough couple days for the Corrado...

Changed out my heater core... I put in a Meyle, which is at least German made. I wish I could have found an all-metal Passat one though. Oh well... next time! It was changed out once already with a super crappy aftermarket brand. Hopefully this one lasts longer. I also used the opportunity to put in some VDO gauges for Boost, Oil Temp and Water Temp... (I'm gonna get green bulbs to match the stock cluster color)

After all this my starter failed yesterday, doesn't even try and turn over at all... I changed the electrical switch in the ignition recently thinking perhaps that was the cause of the starters predilection for only working 75% of the time without making that terrible electrical WHRRRR sound. Now I know it was the starter to begin with.

Next on the list is valve cover gasket, better quality thermostat, swapping out all the plastic coolant flanges (for reliability), putting in euro-spec bulbs and relays for the E-Codes, installing automatic cooling fan controller... and much more. I can only work on it on my days off unfortunately, but at least it pays to work in auto parts to get a discount on things I need.

That's rough, I'm lucky I think I'm still on the original heater core. You must be getting good at taking the dash apart.
Nice job on the VDO gauges, looks good and good visibility

5th in show, nice one!!

I see you're in Kelowna... I need to sell my '90 Corrado G60 which is currently in storage near Merritt, if you know anyone looking in the Okanagan let me know. It's in decent running condition. Haven't gotten around to listing it on Craigslist yet.
