I think I have just what you are looking for. I'm in Cincinnati Ohio, so I'm not that far from pa. Could meet halfway or something, but anyway, the car is a 91 g60 auto with 78k original everything. I need to put a coolant flange on the cylinder head, but no big deal. Flushed the trans. The color is dark pearl burgundy, very nice color option. Non sunroof car. Hatch has no rust. It will need a radioing have tocgeck the seatbelts out because they just decided to stop working last year. Has a few dings and scratchs, clear looks bad on the roof and hatch, and the hood is original green that been top coated black. The old hood had a huge dent from a fallen tree branch. Was planning on having it painted and the roof taken care of in one shot.

Originally picked it up so the girlfriend could cruise with us, but we have found a white one that she likes more. The car runs and drives with no problems. A/c work, Im pretty sure the cruise works too, it's been while since I have driven it myself. Let me know an email address and I can send some pics. Probably looking for $4,000

Thanks, eric

Looking for anyone with a running 1990 corrado W/ manual transmission, to help check my ECM/ECU. I would like to switch ECM and see if my ecm will turn your car on. Anybody in the MD, DC, VA area. my friend and I have power probed and tested everything in this corrado and we suspected the ecm and I sent it away to be rebuilt but its still does not work. The car does not get spark. The 109 relay does not get signal but when we jump with probe the car turns on normal. Any local help would be appreciated. just want to see if ECM did get repaired.

Haha! I've had the same experience. I live in CA so the weather is not very harsh so I opted to save the money on Stainless and went with the aluminized Techtonics Cat back exhaust. Living in CA, there are strict regulations regarding exhaust equipment and TT takes the time to ensure their products certify and pass CA regulations.

From my experience, I've used Autotech which was very well made but cruising speeds, the drone sound made it difficult to hold a conversation inside the car. Other than that it was well made. I've used the Eurosport which wasn't very well made. The hooks didn't line up with the mount points under the body, the components were slightly above what I would get from any muffler shop but it was inexpensive.

The best by far was the Techtonics. It is the only system I've used that had sufficient bends to clear the rear axle on my car once it was lowered. The components are dyne verified. And if its too loud for your taste, you can purchase the optional center resonator to quiet things down. The also have stainless or aluminized versions of each of their system.

Have a 90 Stage III with rebuilt/modified G-Lauder (via BB) with a stainless Techtonics exhaust w/out resonator and "suitcase." Has a 2-1/4" to a 5" outlet. It is sporty and somewhat loud, can ease off on it to reduce the sound. Some drivers think the car has a V-8 in it.

Will set off car alarm systems in a parking lot. Did not get the Borla muffler due to cost. However, a later test on a dyno showed that the TT stainless muffler produced more power than the Borla.

System is at least 17 years old. Only replacement has been two cats.

You did not say if you prefer the G60 or the SLC (VR6)

Both platforms have their virtues and their pitfalls. So there is a lot written on the "usual" problems and common fixes of the Corrado.

Between my brother and myself, we own three corrodos. 2 G60s & 1 SLC They are different. i do not believe one is better than the other. They are different.

If you like Top Gear, they recommend the VR6 version.

I've spent most of my time with the G60 platform. Even amongst the supercharged versions, there are variations between the G60 models. Expect to spend a lot of time with whatever you buy. These cars are beyond finding a "low mileage" good condition example.

What are the most common issues? That list is too expansive to portray in a short forum entry.

If you're interested, I've outlined how I've addressed most of the issues regarding the G60 early edition. There are numerous other blogs similar to what I've done and you will gather some valuable insight into what it takes to overcome some of the common issues associated with these cars.

1991 Corrado G60, stock engine, stock super-charger, 115k miles, 5 speed manual - Midnight Blue pearl, 17" wheels - Lemon Grove, CA

Hello all,

First of all, let me start off by saying I think its only fair to sell this to VW and Corrado enthusiasts and not as a daily driver for some random college kid. The car runs and has a less miles on it than your typical 20+year old car, but you all know that Corrados require attention, and these aren't common cars, and these aren't cars even your average Joe mechanic is familiar with. These cars are becoming endangered and they deserve to be taken care of from special individuals. This Corrado has had a lot of attention mechanically, and therefore mechanically it is in good shape, (with the exception of a few minor wear and tear details), and has had a lot previously replaced. Cosmetically on the other hand, due to its previous location with the previous owner, it needs some attention and thats the main consideration i'm taking in with the price. I'll break down the details below.

Also i want to mention this car has been garaged for a few years and most recently has been brought back to life. This includes smog, which you know is a bitch in California. Fresh stickers are now coming in the mail.

Lets start with the GOOD:
* IT RUNS!! - No problems with the 1.8 engine, recent tune up
-new plugs/cables/rotor/cap
-fresh oil (synthetic) and filter
-coolant (g12 pink stuff upgrade)
-fresh air filter
-new fuel filter
-new fuel pump
-new fuel gasket
-new battery
-alternator was replaced a few years ago
*BBM solid engine mount
-G-ladder stock supercharger still intact (however I would strongly recommend getting it rebuilt unless you plan to replace it with an alternative charger)
-interior in decent shape
-spoiler still functions
-illuminated gauges
-projector style upgraded headlamps
-Fuzion tires have very few miles on them (although wheels might be bigger than most people prefer for a corrado -17")
-transmission is good, sometimes you have to take it easy shifting in reverse though
-brand new illuminated shift knob (audi TT style)
*Passat glass moon roof provided but not installed- will replace bad sunroof (see below)

The "BAD"
*original sunroof was sealed by the previous owner with some kind of calk since i imagine it leaked, and the switch was disconnected (however, i have a replacement switch and a full moon roof to replace the whole system - will require some work)
*Car needs a respray - as i mentioned, the most notable issues with this car are cosmetic. There is clear-coat damage on the hood and roof, major chipping on the rear bumper, some minor rust surrounding the back hatch window, some scratches, and quite a few small dents on both doors. Some bondo and a new coat of paint will be good for this car, body wise though its ok. it hasn't been in any wrecks or fender-benders so you won't need new bumpers or anything like that, just needs a make-over.
-no A/C or heater - heater core is bypassed (most of you know this is a typical thing for a Corrado at this age) I learned to live without it for several years, however it is fixable if you're willing to dig in there
-Clarion aftermarket radio/cd player stopped working a few years ago - probably a fuse or wire problem, just never bothered with it. Still have the deck and everything.

Well thats all i can think of at the moment. the car is in San Diego, east county, more specifically Lemon Grove. However i'm in Burbank so if you'd like to just look at the car I can give you the address and you can check it out. If you're actually strongly interested and would like to drive it or check it out under the hood, etc, then let me know in advance and we'll arrange something so i can come down. Email me directly for a faster response, psyched550@yahoo.com Thanks!

Okay there are quite a few differences to answer your first question yes the corrado did come in an all leather model and also a blue dot cloth. As the other member said the dash is different also the engine. From 1989 to 1992 it was a 1.8L supercharged G60 from 1993 to 1995 it was a 2.8L vr6 or also classified as a W6 due to it being only 15 degrees off of an in line 6. The vr6 engine was also offered in two different ignition systems one was coil pack and the other was distributor. Also from 1993 to 1995 the SLC model went from a 4 lug to a 5 lug also making the front end a half inch wider on both sides and giving more flare to the fenders to clear the new sized 17in speedline wheels. The rood was also revered from a concave center of the hood to a contour center to make more room to clear the bigger engine. The interior what also changed a bit the door cards were re designed a little moving the window and mirror controls together and to the lower section of the door. The seats being leather also came with a optional seat warmers. Other then that the interior was the same as the previous years. I believe i covered just about everything.
