"Oh that magic feeling" ...The Obsession started over 8yrs ago now. My wife purchased a 78 midget as a 25th wedding anniversary gift. Ironically the midget was also 25 yrs old at the time! The Gt came along 2yrs later as a stand in while I was to work on the midget. It originated from Zurich, Switzerland. The only difference about it is that the speedo is in Kms and the radio is a blaupunkt.

Freeezing Out -30 C

Posted on: Wednesday January 18, 2012

Both MGs are tucked in. It's been a balmy winter until this last weekend. The mercury dropped out of the thermometer to a -30 C for the daytime high. I need to pick up a battery tender for the midget. She's having heart tremors. Poor thing...

Nothing New To Report

Posted on: Sunday December 4, 2011

Just a note to self. Nothing new to report. The toys are wrapped up and snuggled up. The only thing on the "to do" list is a new paint job for the GT, master cylinder. After that, it should be smooth running on some summer roads ahead.

Oops... Cooked The Brakes!

Posted on: Sunday September 18, 2011

Since the rear end was rebuilt, I did a greavous error. I lightly applied the parking brake, and forgot to release it for the drive home. Fortunately, it was a rainy day which helped to ease some of the heat build up. The damage was done though. By the time I arrived home, the rear brakes were exhuming smoke... And bound up to where the car couldn't move. They're still bound up. Now the repairs will come, eventually.

Gt Tightened Up

Posted on: Tuesday August 23, 2011

I had the rear end, and steering system rebuilt. She is tight now. Nice to drive. The kingpins were worn out. The only thing left to do is give it a new paint job, engine, tranny rebuild and a vanity plate.. All in good time
