Success Today On AC Installation

Today I took GT to Mobile Air and had the Moss AC Kit I installed in 74.5 RB charged with air. Except for hi lo switch not being tight enough and the compressor belt slipping I now have cold air. I need to run it around with AC on to see if where temp gage ends up. So far it is about the same place it was before. I think I will put a manual switch in it. I may put a vacum switch on compressor so it will cut out on hard pulls up hills.
I still have to put drains on the evaporator ans put air vents in.

Wasted MG Day

Today I spent digging up my lawn sprinker valve. Late last night I was in the basement looking for something and heard faint sound of water running pipe coming from the street. I have a master shutoff valve down there an so I turned it off and still heard the faint sound of running water. I went out and looked at water meter and the little dial was turning slowly.
As I suspected the connections to the sprinkler valve up near the house was leaking. Compression fitting was leaking very slowly. Im going to move that valve inside so I won't have to dig it up anymore. That shot the whole day and wore me out.

Today I put the carbs back on fired it up let it warm up and tuned it according John Twist procedure. Took it for a spin and all seem to be working correctly.
Decided to install air vents supplied with Moss AC kit. Started cutting special velcro to attach them with and only had one side of velcro in kit. Dayumit. I probably have some somewhar.

AC Intalllation Continuted

I finally got all of the Moss AC kit wiring installed.
I put the two relays on the fender just behind the starter relay. I routed the main part of the harness down so the power wires could be connected to the starter solenoid with plenty of lenght. The wiring to the fan, compressor and the evaporator did fine with plenty of length. I had to lengthen the wires to the hi-lo pressure swithch about 6 inches I did about 12 however. I also had to lengthen the wires to the radiatior temperature swith. I didnt like the routing over the engine as suggested for these wires and since I had to lengthen anyway I routed them behind the engine and across to drivers inner fender then up to the switch on the left side of the radiator. This added about 3 feet plus to these two wires. I used 14ga wire for the added length. Checked out the condenser fan it runs good as well as the evaporator fan. Get AC gassed up next week.

Got brown wire replace and re taped the harness got a modern day in line fuse holder to replace the roasted one.
Put AC control switch in the empty hole on the console.
Now all I have to do is run 3 wires to the engine bay and connect power to solenoid and run wire to the ignition on fuse on fuse block on fender.
Making progress

Found brown 12 ga wire at NAPA yesterday. Today I put it in the flasher circuit that roasted two days ago.
Still scratching head why 35 td fuse blew. Cant find a short anywhere. Was taking console off to put in AC control swith. Now I can do that.
